Gius' NYC Tour Guide
Over the years, many of my friends from other countries and states have come to visit me. I've taken them around NYC to all the tourist locations and hidden gems. I have finally perfected the way to site see in NYC in order to make the most out of every day. I'm going to share with you my basic guide.
You should plan to spend at least 3 hours or more at the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty. I would go early in the morning to the Statue of Liberty because the lines can get quite long.
My guide goes in order from the top of Manhattan to the Bottom.
1. Central Park- Strawberry fields. On a nice day you can row boat in the park for an hour.
Alice's Tea Cup 72nd/ Central Park Avenue is right next to the park and perfect for an afternoon tea, snack, breakfast or lunch.
2. Columbus Circle. Walk down fancy 5th Avenue/ Park Avenue
3. Times Square 42nd and Broadway. From there head to Bryant Park, Grand Central Station, and Rockefeller Center. In the winter time the Large Christmas tree will be lit up and you can ice skate.
4. 32nd Street- Empire State Building, Large Macy's Store, and lots of souvenir shops.
5. 46th St. and 1st Ave- United nations. The flags are only flown on the weekdays until 4pm.
6. High Line NYC- Walk the High Line from W 23rd to 14th Street. Eat dinner or lunch at Artichoke Pizza.
7. Union Square 14th Street. Walk down Broadway and do some shopping until you get to Houston Street. Stop at Washington Square Park along the way (W 4th Street and 5th Ave). Eat lunch at Katz Deli on the East side.
8. Mulberry Street to Little Italy, China Town and Canal Street. Souvenir shop on Canal Street during the day.
9. Battery Park- Statue of Liberty/ Ellis Island. You can take a beautiful picture from the park of the Statue of Liberty if you don't want to take the ferry ride there. From there, walk to Wall Street. Then head to the Freedom Tower and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. The Museum is very powerful.
10. South Street Seaport- Lovely restaurants. Perfect to hang out at on a nice day!
Other ideas:
1. Met Museum- It's free to enter, but you can make a donation to the museum.
2. Bar hop around Houston and Bleeker Street.
3. Go to Harlem (125th Street and West Side Highway). Eat at Dinosaurs BBQ or Red Rooster.
4. Rent a bike and bike down the West Side Highway bike path.

5. Brooklyn Bridge
6. Lombardi's Pizza - America's First Pizzeria.
7. The Doughnut Plant- Absolutely Delish!
8. Magnolias Bakery
9. Levain Cookies
10. Sofia Wine Bar
11. The Egg Shop- nice lunch spot. (Elizabeth St./ Kenmare)
12. Laduree (Thompson St/ Prince)- Tea Time, cocktails, lunch and desserts.
Have a great time in the Big Apple!
